Established the team as the most powerful team of his time, capturing 14 pennants and 10 World Series championships on his 1945 retirement. Elected to Hall of Fame 3 months before his death. 2 ¾ x 7 ¾ DS, The Rye National Bank check, Rye, New York, August 16 1951, completed in his hand for $69.86 payable to Nanny Lizotte, a laundress. This was Joe DiMaggio's last season and a year in which the Yankees would win yet another World Series championship.
