(1840-1921)”Marse Henry”, Louisville Courier-Journal editor 1868-1918, one of most eminent and influential US journalists; won 1918 Pulitzer Prize for editorials. ALS on 8 x 5 "Manhattan Club/Madison Square" letterhead, (New York), (August 1908), to “Gus”. Watterson is at Manhattan Beach, just missed “Gus” at the bank, requests a box at The Hackett for next Tuesday. Pencil note at top left: “8/22/08 sent box”. The Hackett Theatre on W. 42nd St. in New York built in 1904. Producer-actor James K. Hackett took over the lease and renamed the theatre for himself. In 1911, William B. Harris did the same. It was closed in 1930 and demolished 1997.
