(1916-1983) trumpet player, bandleader, radio & film work 30’s- 50’s. “Swing Era” instrumentalist, employed bravura playing style that made his trumpet work identifiable. One of most popular bandleaders of WW II era, continued to lead his band until 9 days before his death. His was the first "name band" to employ vocalist Frank Sinatra, in 1939. His hit "You Made Me Love You" was in the Top 10 during the week of Dec. 7, 1941 and he was second only to Glenn Miller as the most successful recording artist of 1942. ISP with horn, 10 x 8 “Harry James and His Orchestra” publicity photo inscribed & signed with sentiment. IMAGE NOTE: Light area at top right corner is from reflected light, not a flaw.
