(1875-1955) Special Counsel to US in “Teapot Dome” scandal investigation, Associate Justice 1930-45. Wrote 1936 Court opinion in US v. Butler striking down FDR’s New Deal Agricultural Adjustment Act and upheld 1st Amendment rights of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Cantwell v. Connecticut 1940. Roberts also headed a special committee to investigate and report to Congress on the military’s performance at Pearl Harbor. Signed 3 ½ x 5 ¼ card, undated but early-mid 1940s.

Condition: Very good, light uniform toning, slightly pale corners
