(b. 1941) English actress, daughter of Sir John Mills and sister of actress Hayley Mills, her godmother was actress Vivien Leigh, and her godfather was playwright Noël Coward. She began her career as a child actress and was nominated for a Tony Award for her stage performance in “Five Finger Exercise” in 1960. She progressed to film work, and then to television, playing the lead role in the sitcom “Nanny and the Professor” 1970-71, called an American variation of “Mary Poppins”. She played a nanny with magical powers. She received Golden Globe Award nominations for her work in this series and for her role in the film “Avanti!” (1972). She won an Emmy for her performance in the TV miniseries “QB VII” (1974). She played a continuing role in the daytime drama series “Passions” 1999-2008 for which she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award. As a baby and small child, Mills appeared as an extra in various films, including a role as an 11-week-old baby in the 1942 film “In Which We Serve”, starring her father. 10 x 8 ISP, glossy b&w ABC-TV promotional portrait still in costume from “Nanny and the Professor”, inscribed and signed with sentiment (“To Joe/Good luck/Juliet Mills”).
