(b. 1930) Nephew of WW II General Lawton Collins. NASA astronaut (3rd group, 1963), on 1966 Gemini X (with John Young) mission, command module pilot on 1969 Apollo 11, 1st lunar landing mission. Major General USAF (Ret.), former Director of Smithsonian Air & Space Museum. 10 x 8 SP (“Michael Collins”), color half-length NASA lithograph portrait of Collins in space suit, right hand resting on his helmet, large image of the moon behind him. His name is printed at lower border, b&w NASA logo and printed identification on verso. Collins has not responded to autograph requests for many years.
