Description:
(18331915) Banker, Treasurer of the United States 1883-85. In 1863, Wyman became a clerk in the Office of the Treasurer of the United States, then appointed Assistant Cashier, resigning on Jan. 1, 1868. He returned on April 1, 1875 as Assistant Treasurer. Nominated by President Grant to be Treasurer 1876, served July 1876-July 1877. He re-joined the Office of the Treasurer in 1879 as Cashier. President Arthur nominated Wyman to be Treasurer of the United States for a 2nd time, serving April 1883-April 1885. He then returned to Omaha to work as a banker for the Omaha Trust Company, eventually becoming its president. 2 x 3 1/2 card signed as "Treasurer US", adds December 17 1884 date
