(1906-1977) On screen from 1925 thru 1970, leading lady of 40-s & 50’s, won 1945 Oscar for "Mildred Pierce". 10 x 6 ½ TLS on her 426 No. Bristol Avenue, Los Angeles letterhead,July 10 1950, to playwright-actor Richard Maloy, Hopewell Junction, NY, regarding his play “Hollow Trumpet”. She would enjoy reading it and if he cares to send it she will give him her opinion but feels “it is only fair to tell you, however, that I am not keen on doing a legitimate production”, but “the right story would do much to influence my decision.” (Ms Crawford did option Mr. Maloy’s play “Hollow Trumpet” for the screen but it was never produced.)
